To make it more interesting, we also carry DVD's, CD's, video games of all types (lots of cool retro stuff!) Boyd's bears, Smoky Mountain souvenirs, T-shirts, mugs, local honey, jams & jellies, organic & healthy snacks, & whatever else we think is interesting. And did I mention exceptional organic, fair-trade coffees & teas?
We currently have about 100,000 books shelved in our little shop; we also have thousands of others that are not shelved yet, some that are listed on various booksellers' sites, & many that are still in boxes that we just don't have room for at the moment. If you are looking for specific titles, please ask; we can usually dig out books that you'd be surprised to see. People are often amazed at the books that we have on hand.
Your first impression of the store may be "chaos"; take a deep breath & stroll around for a minute, order up an organic latte, & you'll see that there is some sense to this mess. Our main focus is nonfiction in all genres, but we have a good selection of fiction as well. Everything for the Civil War buff, to the cookbook collector, an extensive collection of kids' books in every category, to "chic lit" & a good mystery! We try to carry every interesting book we can fit in here!
We accept book trades every day. We can only accept books that are clean & in good condition. We accept books in all genres, but we do not accept Reader's Digest condensed readers or encyclopedias
We focus a lot on local interest books that have to do with the Smoky Mountain area, the genealogical history of the area, early settlement, Native American history, & that sort of thing. We are always looking to trade or buy books along that line. Some specific titles that we are looking for are all of the books from the Foxfire series, Mountain Ways by Aiken, Over the Misty Blue Hills(A History of Cocke County), Dictionary of Smoky Mountain English, books about Cades Cove & John Sevier, & many more. Call, email or stop by to discuss what you have.
We have all your favorite fiction writers, & since we sell them in volume, we are always in need of lots of paperbacks. We try to keep bestsellers on hand, but we need to get enough of them in trade! So bring in what you have so you can swap some out!
We can buy large or small estates of books; again, call, email or stop by to discuss.
